My notes from this video
In the mixer I use a combination of EQ and distortion stacks. Add a wave shaper with maximum distortion and an EQ in front of it. Boost the main fundamental frequency and then the mids a little bit. For the second and third stage, add maximum wave shaping again, with an EQ in front.
The last stage is a soft clipper with an EQ in front of it. When you boost the sub with a low shelf you can squash up the kick. Remove the low mids to make it a little bit more clean and enhance the highs.

On the second stage I automate the low shelf of the EQ. Make it go down, up and down. Then boost any frequency with a very narrow peak.
On the third stage, find the fundamental frequency and automate that bell curve with the same automation clip. Make sure Remove conflicts is not enabled. Then create a narrow peak at the frequency you boosted and automate that bell curve on its own clip. Start high and go low after the punch. You can make it open up as well. This is just to enhance that main frequency.

Go back into any of your EQs and change whatever you want in the narrow peak frequencies. Everything is a play between the mids and the bass. If the bass is too low, the mids get too much resonance. If the bass is too high, it gets too squashed.
Then render your final kick and add a wave shaper on the master to clip it against zero dB.
