How to Make a Classic Hardstyle Lead in Spire

You can make a classic hardstyle lead using only Spire, and here's how.

My notes from this Short

01

Three supersaw oscillators

I use three oscillators. Oscillator 1 gets nine voices and the detune, and I open the wide. If you put the density all the way on the right, it's a full supersaw.

The second one gets a bit fewer voices, with some wide and detune. Oscillator 3 goes one octave up, with nine voices, detune, density and wide. Then I take down the release a bit.

02

All oscillator pitch on envelope 2

In envelope 2 I add all oscillator pitch, open the decay and take the sustain down to make it go down. You can change the speed of the attack by changing the slope.

03

LFO 1 opens up during the lead

In LFO 1 I select all oscillator pitch as well, change it to a sine wave and add amount and some rate. I want this to open up during the lead, so I simply slide it open. Then I take the gain down a bit.

The X compressor makes it more bright and in your face. With the EQ I take down the lows, then some basic delay and reverb.
