Four Useful Spire Features for Hardstyle Production

These four things about Spire can be very helpful for your hardstyle production.

My notes from this Short

01

The phase knob sets a fixed start point

In Spire I can change the phase retriggering by moving the phase knob. While most plugins like Sylenth1 come with a phase retrigger mode, here you change it by increasing the phase point over 30.

From that point on, the phase will start at whatever point you put it. You get the plucky analog sound.

The phase knob on 34, so the phase starts at a fixed point.
02

Density runs from hypersaw to supersaw

The density knob is very unique in this plugin. If you put it all the way to the right, you get a classic supersaw. All the way to the left, a classic hypersaw.

Anywhere in between, it changes the grouping of the voices in the detune, and this really changes the sound. That means you have a lot of random control over the detune just by changing the position of the density.

03

A pitch LFO that opens up and a low X-Comp

If you have some pitch LFO, you can have it open up during the lead by sliding it open, so the LFO opens up while you play a note.

The X-Compressor knob can upgrade every lead or preset you make. Just open it and listen to the difference. The sweet spot for me is a very low amount.
