How to Make a Laser Kick in Vital

You have to check this out if you want to make laser kicks like that.

My notes from this Short

01

Punch, crunch and reverb on envelope

I open oscillator 1 and 2, take down the phase randomization and take oscillator 2 down 24. LFO 1 is going to be the punch, LFO 2 the crunch and LFO 3 the reverb, all on envelope at 1/4.

LFO 2 goes to the level of oscillator 2, all the way up.

02

Hard clip first, reverb after

In the effects I open a compressor with attack, release and a bit of lows, distortion on hard clip all the way, and a reverb where I take down the lows and add some time. I assign LFO 3 to the reverb mix, to 50. Distortion first, reverb after.

Vital effects page for a hardstyle laser kick: Distortion on Hard Clip first in the chain, then the Reverb with its low end cut, then a Multiband Compressor

03

LFO 4 as the pitch envelope

LFO 4 is going to be the pitch envelope. Finally, filter 1 goes on analog 24 for the punch with some resonance, and filter 2 gets a flanger with oscillator 1 and 2 going into it. I change the crunch with inharmonic stretch.
