How to Make an Oldschool Kick Crunch in Serum 2

Oldschool hardstyle is so back. We can now make oldschool kicks 100% from scratch in Serum 2.

A 909 split into punch and crunch

I split my 909 into a punch, which is processed in bus 1, and a crunch in bus 2. To get that crunch, I first add some gain, then asymmetrical distortion, then an EQ curve to boost the mids.

The overdrive stack on the mids

Then the overdrive stack. Put it around six and just focus on the mids. This is huge for hardstyle. Then another EQ.

In main I add another asymmetrical distortion on tube and some soft clipping, and there you have your oldschool crunch.
