How to Make a Divebomb Screech That Slows Down in Serum

Start off with a saw wave and add distortion on something like Diode, so you immediately have that power.

My notes from this Short

01

Envelope 2 on the global master tune

I use envelope 2 and add it to the global master tune, going two octaves up. Then I spice it up with detune, obviously. As you can hear, moving the detune changes the speed.

02

The same envelope on the detune

So I assign envelope 2 to that detune as well, so it gets very fast in the beginning. You get this slowdown effect.

Serum oscillator A for a divebomb screech that slows down: envelope 2 on the unison detune at 50, with the envelope 2 shape at 209 ms attack and 2.07 s decay
Envelope 2 on the unison detune of oscillator A, at 50.
03

FM from a spectral oscillator B

You can do a few more things, for example FM from B, with oscillator B on a spectral one to get weird sounds. Then spice it up by adding some reverb.
